Notes to Chapter 9
[1]The incompatibility comes from the lexical content of the form: in "He is an angel of God," x and y are compatible, as are y and z; in "A leader is a dealer in hope," x and y are compatible but y and z are not; in "Children are the riches of poor men," x and y are incompatible, and so are y and z. In this study, we inspect what happens when y and z are incompatible.
[2]Gilles Fauconnier and Kathy Harris alerted me to this phenomenon.
